These kids are pretty awesome and hilarious with what they say sometimes. Missing a few loves in this one!
Another week for the books! What strange weather! COME ON SPRING!!!
Parent/Teacher Conferences for the spring are being held as follows:
Tuesday, March 7th
Wednesday, March 8th
Thursday, March 9th
I will be sending out a form this week about conferences.
Thursday, March 2nd is Read Across America Day...Dr. Seuss' birthday! This is one of my favorite days of the year! If your child has a Dr. Seuss book that is his/her favorite, they can bring it in! I am going to try to set up times to meet with our prayer partners to read the books!
Love,
Mrs. Cacaccio
RELIGION:
We started Chapter 15 with the fifth commandment: Thou shall not kill. Students brainstormed many "do's" and "don'ts" to lead healthy and great lives.
MATH:
Students took the Chapter 8 Fractions test on Wednesday. We started Chapter 11 Perimeter, Area, and Volume!
ELA:
This week we read a funny anthology story about a "not so sorry" dog in "Dear Mrs. LaRue." We focused on finding text clues and making conclusions about parts of the story and the story in general.
This week we will read a Scholastic News.
We WILL have a spelling list this week. I will use words from a story we won't be reading in our anthology. We will take more time to look at the words throughout the week.
WRITING:
Students will work on their second personal narrative. Students completed a listening grade this week during writing. They listened to me read a short passage and then they had to summarize the story. As I was reading, I allowed them to use a graphic organizer to organize their thoughts.
SCIENCE:
This week, we will be making paper! We will also review for the unit test which has been moved due to the snow from last week.
The Makeup of the Earth Unit test will be Thursday, February 23rd.
