Happy Chinese New Year! It's the year of the Rooster! We have a pretty exciting week ahead of us, celebrating our Catholic Education! Have an amazing week!
Love,
Mrs. Cacaccio
RELIGION:
Students took the Unit 3 assessment and we started Unit 4 with the beginning of Chapter 14.
MATH:
We are breezing right through Chapter 8, Fractions. This past week we looked at equivalent fractions, factors of numbers, and simplifying fractions to lowest terms or simplest form. Students are doing well!
ELA:
This week we read an awesome anthology story called "When I Went to the Library." The story was so funny with the character Cara. We focused on character traits and inferencing. How can we "read between the lines" of a story to really GET the picture?
This week we will read a Scholastic News and Chinese New Year articles and stories!
We WILL NOT have a spelling list this week.
WRITING:
The kiddos keep amazing me with their interest in free write. They've totally taken off with writing their own stories. This week we will fit in free write wherever we can and add in some figurative language.
SCIENCE:
I'd like to wrap up Lesson 3 for this unit. I've decided NOT to use Lesson 4. I hope to finish up the unit this week. With Catholic Schools Week, we are still trying to fit in S.S. and Science!
