This photo definitely describes our personality in 4B. I'm having a blast with your children. These kiddos have worked hard this year and I am going to continue pushing them to do their best.
We have Terra Nova testing this week. Breakfast will be graciously served this week Monday-Friday, but NOT the following Monday, March 27th.
I asked the students to get plenty of sleep and bring in plenty of #2 pencils (I suggested 4). Many students are low on pencils at this time too!!
The only homework this week will be reading 20 minutes.
Field trip information was sent home : )
Love,
Mrs. Cacaccio
RELIGION:
We finished Chapter 18. Chapter 19 will be this week where we look at the last commandment! The unit test will be after Terra Novas and then we will start our last unit about the beatitudes.
MATH:
We are finishing up Chapter 12 division. I have decided to not give a full test on this chapter. I will give a quiz to the students after testing. We will start Chapter 6, Measurement this week during testing.
ELA:
This week we finished articles from last week's Scholastic News. Students have started working on a pamphlet about saving the elephants. I gave them the template and they are adding information from a graphic organizer that they completed. The information has different topics from the article and they had to summarize. How far they have come this year!
We will read an anthology story this week. They will NOT study the vocabulary terms. We will take a closer look at them during class this week. I am going to give them the spelling pretest, but will not test them. I'd still like them to look at the words though.
We WILL NOT test on the spelling words or have homework.
WRITING:
This week, I hope to fit in some poetry writing time. I want to focus on alliteration, stanzas, and rhyme!
SCIENCE:
Students took their Lessons 1 and 2 quiz on Thursday. This week we will look at pollination. Students will also start to work on making iMovies about the importance of bees! I am SO excited for this! I am going to have them listen to an article from last year's Scholastic News about a little girl who has her own successful business to help the bees!
REMINDERS:
1. Report Cards Published: Monday, March 20
2. Terra Nova Testing: Begins Monday, March 20
3. Dress Down Day: Thursday, March 30
